New
study: abortion hurts women
The
January 2003 issue of the Obstetric and Gynecological Survey
has published the results of a study that shows abortion increases
the risk of premature delivery, maternal depression and suicide,
and other serious health consequences. The researchers, professors
of medicine at the University of North Carolina and the University
of Michigan, reviewed thirty years of medical studies on the
long-term risks of abortion.
The
researchers are recommending further studies to meet “the clear
need for women to have accurate information” about the risks
and potential complications of abortion.
